STG Board of Directors Officers

Becca Stabno – President jazzergirl12@gmail.com

Becca is in her second year as STG president. She has been involved in almost 40 local theatre productions, playing characters like A Movie Star, Baroness, Girl Who Cain’t Say No, Spelling Bee Champion, Good Witch, Wicked Witch, Nosy Neighbor, Floozy, Scottish Lass, Little Girl in Red Hood, Feather Duster, Stepmother, Music Director and Rock Star (Accompanist). She teaches Jazzercise and works as a Standardized Patient at KU Med School, but her favorite roles are being Wife to Andreas and Mom to Abbie (19,) Emma (15), and Sammie (12).

Brad Rackers – Vice President & Season Selection Chair

Brad has served as the theatre instructor and director at Lee’s Summit West High School for the past 10 years and has been teaching theatre for the past 16 years. Brad also serves as the Steering Committee Chair for the Kansas City Cappies, the Treasurer for the Missouri Thespians, and the Director of Electronic Communications for the Speech and Theatre Association of Missouri. He is also a founding member of STG Studio, the educational arm of Summit Theatre Group. Most recently he directed Summit Theatre Group’s production of Into the Woods and will serve as the director for next summer’s production of Matilda. Brad holds a BSE in speech and theatre education from Missouri State University and an MA from Baker University in education.   

Bob Letterman – Treasurer

Bob is the President of Letterman & Co., P.C., a certified public accounting firm that moved to Lee’s Summit in 2001. He was born and raised in the Kansas City area, graduating from Rockhurst College many years ago. He has served as Chair of the Missouri Society of CPAs, and served on Council of the American Institute of CPAs. He became interested in theater with Starlight tickets, holding them for several years. He has served on the STG Board since 2011, the last several as Treasurer.

Kenny Taylor – Co-Secretary & Special Events Chair

Kenny participates in many roles onstage and backstage with Summit Theatre Group and other local theatre organizations as well as teaches technical theatre for STG Studio. He grew up here in Lee’s Summit and now teaches middle school broadcasting and video technology in LSR7 where he also directs or tech directs several shows each year. He holds a bachelor’s degree in education from the University of Central Missouri and a masters from Baker University.

Jamilee Mediak – Co-Secretary

Jamilee is currently serving her 2nd term as the co-secretary of Summit Theatre Group. She is heavily involved in crew positions with her most recent role being Stage Manager for Into the Woods and Director for the upcoming season’s production of 9 to 5 The Musical. Outside of theatre Jamilee is a certified Human Resources Professional and works with several businesses in the metro.

Taylor Arri

Taylor is a recent law school graduate of UMKC and is an associate at White, Graham, Buckley, and Carr in Independence. Taylor has been involved in theatre since a young age and recently performed in three STG productions, Shrek the Musical, Beauty and the Beast, and Ordinary Days. Taylor and her husband, Bryan, are passionate about the arts in our community and making sure there are equal opportunities for all to participate in creative outlets.

Adam Arterbridge

Raised in Lee’s Summit, Adam has been involved in Kansas City area theatre for over 20 years, performing and directing with various theatres around the metro. He has been a part of Summit Theatre Group from its earliest planning stages and has served as a board member since 2015. With Summit Theatre Group he has directed Boeing BoeingAll My Sons, and Picasso at the Lapin Agile and will serve as director for STG’s upcoming production of Hands on a Hardbody in 21-22. He holds a B.S. in Mass Media from Missouri State University.

Kirby Asplund – Policies & Procedures Chair

Kirby Asplund owns his own marketing/communications firm. He’s been involved in the field for his entire career, including 18 years as a senior marketing director with Penton Media, the nation’s largest business-to-business media information company. He is active in the Lee’s Summit Chamber of Commerce, and the Rotary Club of Lee’s Summit, and serves as Rotary District 6040 Public Image chair. Heavily involved in high school and college theatre, his involvement with Summit Theatre Group began in 2014, when he joined the cast of Godspell. He has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Morningside College in Sioux City, Iowa, and an MBA from the Keller Graduate School of Management.

Carl Chinnery

Carl was born in Kansas City, KS and is a graduate of Southwest High School. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Government from Beloit College in 1964; he minored in vocal music and acted in numerous musicals throughout college and after. Carl attended UMKC School of Law and was admitted to the Bar in 1967. Carl is and has always been active in his community which is evident in his involvement with various organizations in Lee’s Summit including the Rotary Club of Lee’s Summit. You may recognize that Carl’s family was the recent subject of STG’s podcast radio-style original play A Candle Against The Dark.

Stan Cole – Development Chair

Stan is the Senior Aerospace Science Instructor for the Blue Springs South High School Air Force Junior ROTC Program, a position he has held since retiring from the USAF as a Colonel in 2014. Originally from Kansas City, he graduated from the US Air Force Academy in 1992 and served as an Intelligence Officer for 22 years. Stan received the 2017 Outstanding Instructor Award as the #1 JROTC instructor in the nation out of over 1,800 of his peers. He has been involved with Summit Theatre Group since 2018, recently directing STG’s Ordinary Days and appearing in seven STG shows including favorites such as Next to Normal (Dan) and Beauty and the Beast (Beast.) The next role for Stan is small business owner, as he is preparing to open the KC metro’s first Roosters Men’s Grooming Center franchise in Parkville, MO near the end of 2020.

Emily Davenport – Front House Manager

Emily found her way back to the theatre community eight years ago and loves being a part of the energy, imagination, and friendships cultivated through live theatre. Having joined the STG Board last year, she appreciates the opportunity to further support the art that she loves. Emily is an executive assistant in the Episcopal Church and serves as Communication Officer for B+E+S+T (Bishops Executive Secretaries Together).

Landry Edwards – Student Rep

Landry is a senior at Lee’s Summit West High School. In her years at Lee’s Summit West she has been involved in many main stages on the tech side of things. Landry’s favorite crew position is stage managing. Landry is also involved in the Repertory Theatre class at Lee’s Summit West where she also enjoys acting. Landry got involved with Summit Theatre Group three years ago with her first involvement being Shrek the Musical as the stage manager. Landry hopes to continue theatre all through her life.

Pam Hatcher

Pam has been working in real estate for over 30 years. In 2018, she opened her own brokerage firm Integrity Group Real Estate with the belief that integrity and honesty should be paramount in all aspects of the business. Pam was previously the Director of Technical Real Estate with CBRE with 26 years experience in contract negotiation and construction and property management. Pam and her husband Tom lived in Lee’s Summit for over 30 years. They have two adult children that graduated from the Lee’s Summit R-7 School District.

Gracie Heath – Student Rep

Gracie Heath attended Lee’s Summit West High School and was heavily involved in their theatre and choir programs. She is now at UCM for a Bachelor’s degree in Musical Theatre with a minor in Dance. She has often stage-managed for STG shows such as Not Another Christmas Letter and The Little Mermaid Jr. Her favorite show she has ever been in is Peter and The Starcatcher at Lee’s Summit West.

Laura Heath – STG Studio Chair

Laura has been an elementary school teacher for 16 years and is currently employed by the LSR7 School District. She was born and raised in the Kansas City area and has lived in Lee’s Summit for the past 26 years. She received her B.A. in Education from UMKC and her Masters in Curriculum and Instruction from Baker University. Laura is an active community member with a strong passion for arts education. She served as President of the Lee’s Summit West Theatre Parent Board and worked towards enhancing the theatre experience for the students and the community.

Zoe Lepper – Student Rep

Zoe attends the University of Central Missouri where she studies middle school theatre education. Zoe has been actively involved in the Kansas City theatre community since she was 17 and has worked with many companies in the area such as Faust Theatre, Prior Productions, Padgett Productions, Leawood Stage Company, and Summit Theatre Group. Along with being a student representative for Summit Theatre Group, she also works as the choreographer for Bernard Campbell Middle School’s Mustang Theatre.

Elise Marshall

Elise is a recent graduate of the University of Central Missouri. She earned her Bachelors of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre in May of 2020. Theatre is her passion. She loves working on and off stage to make a production amazing. She worked with Summit Theatre Group on their production of Next To Normal as an Assistant Costume Designer and Run Crew member in the summer of 2018. It was a wonderful and memorable experience. She looks forward to working with STG as a board member this year!

Jon Specht

Jon Specht acted in his first STG production in 2014 in Boeing, Boeing. He’s been acting around theaters in KC since. Jon is the voice you hear through the speakers prior to each performance at STG thanking you for coming and reminding you to please silence your cell phones. In July 2020, Jon was the narrator on a Shark Week special for The Discovery Channel. He’s served on the STG board since 2017.

STG employees & Volunteers

Ginger Birch – Company Manager – ginger@summittheatre.org

Ginger has worked as Company Manager for STG since 2015. She is a long-time Lee’s Summit resident with a background in music. Ginger holds a B.S. in Vocal Music and will complete her M.S. in Vocal Performance & Conducting in May 2021. She teaches private voice and piano lessons at her home studio, Studio Chyrée. Involved with KC area community theatre since 2001, Ginger has performed onstage and directed/music directed many shows. Some of her favorite performances were The Sound of Music (Maria), The Gifts of the Magi (Della), The Lion King Jr. (music director), Beauty and the Beast (music director), and It’s A Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play (director.) She enjoys all aspects of making the live theatre arts and education available for our community and is passionate about creating quality stories on stage. Ginger is proud to be a founding member of STG Studio, Summit Theatre Group’s new educational arm and is excited about how this will help STG to continue its growth. Also, she loves keeping things organized!

Betsy Sexton – Volunteer Costumes & Props Coordinator

Betsy has stage managed and/or directed at most of the community theatres in the KC Metro area including Theatre in the Park, OCTA, The Barn Players, Bell Road Barn, The Chestnut Fine Arts Center, and STG. Her most recent work was doing props for Overture which recently won first place at the New York Musical Theatre Festival. She also recently did props for The Barn Players production of Grand Hotel.  Here at STG, her stage managing work includes Ordinary Days. Doubt: A Parable, Nuncrackers, Sondheim on Sondheim, Wings, and The Triangle Factory Fire Project as well as handling props for Winter Wonderettes. She has directed A Piece of My Heart, The Women of Lockerbie, and Every Christmas Story Ever Told (and then some!)
