Virtual Private Acting Coaching Sessions (Fee: $30) All Ages

January 25 – March 26

Monday through Friday nightly between 5:00 PM and 9:00 PM – 30 Minute Sessions

Class Description: Are you auditioning for a show soon and need some feedback on your monologue? Would you like to improve your characterization, accents, or expression? Do you have questions about what monologues are right for you? Or are you preparing for college auditions and need some feedback before you complete your video audition? This coaching session will allow you to focus on any of these things. You will be paired with Brad Rackers, theatre director at Lee’s Summit West High School and previous director of several Summit Theatre Group shows. Sessions will be individual and focus on your specific wants and needs in regards to you as an actor. No minimum number of sessions required. Sessions will be scheduled on a first come first serve basis.

Virtual Performance Class (Fee: $120) Grades 3-6

February 1 – March 22

Monday nights from 6:00-7:00 PM (excluding 2/15)

Max of 15 Participants

Class Description: This class is perfect for the student who loves to act and who wants to participate in a play. The class will focus on the casting, rehearsal, and performance of a full length play. Students will work on characterization, memorization, physicalization, and ensemble building throughout the weeks. Time will also be spent focusing on how to make technical elements for a show work in a virtual world. A final script will be selected after enrollment closes. All students involved in the class are guaranteed to have lines in the final performance. As a reminder: all work for this class will be done completely virtual. This class will conclude with a live streamed performance of the play on Monday, March 22 at 7:00 PM.

Virtual Improvisation (Fee: $45) Grades 5-8

January 26 – February 9

Tuesday nights from 6:00-6:45 pm

Max of 15 Participants

Class Description: Improvisation is the key to all good acting. Here is your chance to learn some fundamental skills about the CORE of improvisation on stage. Game and activity based learning will be the structure for this class. We will explore Characters, Objectives, Relationships, and Environment to create high quality improv performances. We will also have a lot of fun! The class will conclude with a live streamed improv mini show. This class is completely different each time you take it.

Virtual Playwriting 101 (Fee $45) Grades 5-12

January 30 – February 6

Saturdays from 10:00-11:30 AM

Max of 15 Participants

Class Description: Do you love to write? Are you a budding playwright who is ready to explore more about writing a scene or a short play? Then this is the perfect class for you! In our playwriting/scene study workshop, we will focus on the basics of play/scene/monologue structure. Students will work together to build a toolbox of playwriting fundamentals and will explore the most effective way to tell their stories in dramatic form. Students will work collaboratively and connect virtually with the teacher and other students to create their works of art. All students involved will complete the final class with a live sharing of each student’s original piece of work! This is a completely virtual class. The live streamed reading will take place on the final Saturday, February 6 from 11:30am-12:00pm.
